Stimulus Bill

 

CONGRESS RECENTLY APPROVED A $900 BILLION STIMULUS BILL TO ASSIST RESIDENTS STRUGGLING THROUGH THE CURRENT PANDEMIC.  ONE OF THE PROVISIONS OF THAT BILL ALLOWS SMALL BUSINESSES TO APPLY FOR A SECOND FORGIVABLE LOAN THROUGH THE PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM.  RESTAURANTS HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE BUSINESSES HIT HARD BY THE PANDEMIC AND THE BILL ALLOWS THEM TO APPLY FOR SOME EXTRA ASSISTANCE.  JESSICA DUNKER, PRESIDENT OF THE IOWA RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION, SPOKE TO RADIO IOWA ABOUT THE PROVISION

.  THE STIMULUS ALSO GIVES $600 ONE TIME PAYMENTS TO INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING CHILDREN.  THOSE MAKING MORE THAN $75,000 A YEAR WILL SEE A REDUCED CHECK AND THOSE MAKING $99,000 WILL NOT RECEIVE A STIMULUS CHECK.  THE BILL OUTLINES AID FOR SCHOOLS, ENHANCES UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS, AND PROVIDES FUNDING FOR VACCINE DISTRIBUTION.
