Teenage Driver Crashes In Webster County After Police Chase Wednesday Morning

A high speed chase that ended on Wednesday Morning  in Webster County injured three people. The chase began shortly after 5 AM Wednesday in Greene County. A Deputy Sheriff there spotted a vehicle on Highway 4 in Jefferson doing over 80 MPH. The Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused and led police on a pursuit with speeds over 130 MPH. The Deputy lost sight of the vehicle during the chase but was then made aware that the vehicle crashed near 360th St and Baxter Ave. in Webster County. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office says that all three of the vehicle’s occupants were juveniles between 16 and 17 years old. The three suffered injuries and were transported to Unity Point Hospital in Fort Dodge. Authorities say, the driver is facing felony eluding and reckless driving charges, and what is believed to be marijuana was found on one of the juveniles. The Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Farnhamville Fire & Rescue, Calhoun County EMS, Southwest Webster EMS and Jefferson PD all assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
