The FDSH Marching Band and Orchestra To Perform in Memphis
The Fort Dodge Senior High Marching Band will be heading to Graceland and get to experience Beale Street in Memphis, just a couple of perks of being selected to perform during the Liberty Bowl.
In addition to participating in the Liberty Bowl Parade, the band will get to see Texas Tech take on Mississippi State on Tuesday December 28th in the bowl game.
Fort Dodge Senior High Junior, Brayden Schmieder who plays the trumpet in the band says he is excited for this trip and opportunity:
“I think it’s going to be fun with my mom coming. She’s going to be a chaperone on this trip. and spending this time with my friends all in the band together will be a lot of too.” Schmieder said.
According to a press release from the Fort Dodge Community School District, the band was contacted by the Liberty Bowl committee last year due to the band’s Superior Rating at the I-H-S-M-A state contest.
The band is led by Band Director Al Paulson. The band along with the orchestra will be making the trip and leave the day after Christmas.
