Third Inmate From Fort Dodge Correctional Facility Dies After Contracting  Covid-19

A third inmate at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility has died after contracting covid-19. 48 year old Timothy Mcghee Jr. passed Monday night at the University of Iowa Hospital. The Dept. Of Corrections press release says that Mcghee Jr. had multiple preexisting medical conditions. He was serving a 15 year sentence for multiple theft convictions, his sentence began in the fall of 2018.  As of Tuesday, The Dept. Of Corrections was reporting that 336 inmates and 30 staff members from the Fort Dodge Prison have tested positive for covid-19 this month. Webster County Public Health issued a covid-19 update Tuesday Evening that says the county’s total case count is now at 672 total cases which is an increase of 64 cases since late last week. However, over half of those cases are attributed to the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. Of the cases for residents of Webster County 313 have recovered which leaves just 25 active cases in Webster County according to their report Tuesday Night.
