Thursday Morning Stabbing On North 10th St Fort Dodge

The Fort Dodge Police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred Thursday Morning. Just Before 11 AM  Thursday morning, the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a report of an individual who had been stabbed. Staff with the Community Health Center relayed that a man had walked into their facility with what appeared to be stab wounds in the neck and back area. Staff began treating the individual before medics with the Fort Dodge Fire Department arrived on scene.
As officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department worked through the initial investigation, it was
discovered that the 39‐year‐old male victim was stabbed in an apartment in the 100 block of North 10th Street. After being injured, the man fled the building, seeking help from the Community Health Center. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center for
treatment. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Investigators and Patrol Officers are continuing to gather information at this point. Anyone with
information is encouraged to contact the police department. Information that has been provided as of
this time indicates this was an isolated incident among individuals and not a random act. The Fort
Dodge Police Department was assisted on scene by the Fort Dodge Fire Department and the Webster
County Sheriff’s Office.
