The South Central Calhoun boys basketball team got their 10th straight win in an overtime thriller edging Newell-Fonda in Lake City Friday 77-76. The game was a back and forth affair that would have several lead changes. Regulation would end tied at 68 after the Titans had a 2 point halftime lead. SCC would lead by 2 late in OT but Newell-Fonda would hit 2 of 3 free throws to tie the game at 76. They miss the 3rd free throw and SCC would push the ball down the floor and Brennan Holder would find Josh Dietrich in the paint. Deitrich would be fouled in the closing seconds and go to the line, here’s the call of the Dietrich trip to the foul line and final sequence.

Zane Neubaum led the Titans again with a game high 21, Brennan Holder added 15. That win sets up a showdown for South Central Calhoun hosting Southeast Valley on Tuesday February 4th. The Jaguars are are 14-3 on the year and won the first meeting 68-58 on December 16th which was the last time SCC lost. Southeast Valley is 2-2 in their last 4 games but prior to that ran off 12 straight wins. The game on Dec. 16th was at Southeast Valley this time the Titans are at home and you would have to imagine it will be a full house and electric atmosphere. The Titans will look to extend the streak, Southeast Valley will look to break the streak and complete the season sweep.
