Sargent Tony Walter has been with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office for over a decade. He recently was a guest on “Dodger Weekly” on KVFD AM 1400. During that appearance he announced he is running for Sheriff as current Sheriff Jim Stubbs will be retiring after his term is up. Walter says that if he is elected Sheriff , community outreach would be a focal point.
Walter went onto to say that one of the biggest obstacles the department faces currently is mental health issues.
Walter then talked about why he is the best fit for the position.
Walter is the 2nd person to declare their candidacy for the position on KVFD, after Luke Fleener announced his candidacy a few weeks ago on “Devine” Intervention with Mike Devine.
