An accident on a ride at Adventureland injured four people over the weekend. Authorities say that a raft on the Raging Rivers ride overturned. The incident happened around 7:30 Saturday night.
6 people were on the raft, three were critically injured and one suffered non-critical injuries. The ride is nearly 40 years old, as it first opened in the early 80’s.
Adventureland management issued a statement on social media confirming the accident. They stated in that statement, the ride had been inspected on Friday and no issues were found.
It’s the 2nd major incident in the last five years with that specific ride. In 2016, park employee Steve Booher was working on the ride and fell onto the conveyor belt. He died days later from injuries suffered in the incident.
