Twin Lakes will be filled with activities Saturday for the first ever Twinterfest.
Twinterfest is a little bit of a take off of Okoboji’s Winter Games.
The event begins at 10am with a lake poker run and will offer ice bowling, a polar plunge and all kinds of winter fun.
According to Twinterfest spokesperson Bill Stephenson, the idea has been one that friends and neighbors living on the lake have been kicking around for about 4 years and this year it just seemed to take off.
“It started with 4 or 5 of us around a table and we’ve been talking about it for years,” Stephenson said. “When Mike Murphy with Traditions got involved and said he would open for one day. That is kinda what set a four year idea in motion.”
The event begins at 10am Saturday and will conclude with a bonfire on the lake at 6pm.
