Two Area High School Football Coaches Receive High Honors

Two area football coaches have garnered high honors after strong seasons. Southeast Valley’s Mike Swieter has been named 1A Regional Coach Of The Year, after a highly successful season leading the Jags to a 9-1 finish. Swieter guided SE Valley to a District Title and the State Quarterfinals.

Derrick Elman of Humboldt was named 3A Regional Coach of The Year after leading Humboldt to their 1st winning season since 2014. Elman also guided Humboldt to a playoff win, the first for the program in years. Elman has engineered a turnaround at Humboldt in just his 3rd season leading the program.
