Two Iowa Men Deny Claims Of Involvement In The Murder Of Mollie Tibbetts

Two Iowa men have denied all claims that they were involved in the death of Mollie Tibbetts. Last week, defense lawyers for Cristhan Bahena-Rivera claimed in court that Gavin Jones and Dalton Hansen could be responsible for the murder of Tibbetts in 2018.

Bahena-Rivera has been convicted of the murder but his sentencing was put on hold, when new claims emerged that someone else had confessed to the murder. That claim was made after an inmate named Arne Maki claimed Jones told him, that he and Hansen kidnapped and killed Tibbetts. A former girlfriend of Jones also claimed he had told her the same thing.

The prosecution says there’s no evidence that supports those claims and that Bahena-Rivera is solely responsible. Both Jones and Hansen claim to have no involvement and say neither of them have been questioned by investigators.

Hansen and Jones are longtime friends who were both housed at the same jail as Maki, but they both say they did not associate with him.
