Two ISU Students Who Died Sunday At Little Wall Lake Identified

The two Iowa State students who died Sunday in a boating accident have been identified. One was 20 year old, Sophomore Yaakov Ben-David of Washington, DC. The other was 19 year old, Freshman Derek Nanni of Normal, Illinois.

They were among five students in the ISU Crew Club, who were practicing Sunday morning at Little Wall Lake in Hamilton County. The boat the five students were in capsized according to reports.

One of the young men was found dead Sunday, the other was found Monday after an extensive search of the lake involving sonar technology. The other three members were rescued.

Iowa State University says it does not plan to release the identity of the other three, in an effort to protect their privacy.
