Two Juveniles Arrested Stemming From A Burglary And Shooting
Two Juveniles have been arrested and charged with a multitude of crimes stemming from a burglary and shooting in Fort Dodge. The Fort Dodge Police issued a statement that on the morning of January 15th they received a call about a burglary in the 3100 block of 10th Avenue South. The victim stated that a firearm, cash and other items were stolen. Investigators discovered that juveniles were likely responsible and either sold or had given the firearm to other juveniles. Upon further investigation, Police learned the firearm was stolen a 2nd time by another juvenile. Just after 4 AM in January 17th officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 300 Block of G St. in Fort Dodge. A home and vehicle were damaged from the shooting but no injuries were reported. Investigators followed leads in both cases and learned the incidents were possibly related. Officers executed search warrants and recovered most of the stolen items including the stolen firearm that was involved. On Thursday two arrests were made in conjunction with the two incidents. a 14 year old male is charged with intimidation with a weapon, 3rd degree burglary, going armed with intent, reckless use of a firearm, carrying weapons and possession of stolen property. A 13 year old female is charged with trafficking a stolen weapon, 3rd degree burglary, carrying weapons, and transferring a firearm to a person under 21. Both were taken to the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center. Due to their ages their names will not be released. The Fort Dodge Police continue to investigate the incidents and additional charges are possible.
