A pair of of recent accidents in the area resulted in a fatality in each of the accidents. The first of the two fatality accidents happened Saturday in Pocahontas County. The accident report for the Iowa State Patrol, says that 19 year old Pocahontas resident Rebecca Hansen died at the scene Saturday afternoon. Her vehicle reportedly rolled into a ditch after going off the road along Highway 3.

The other fatality accident occurred Monday morning in Sac County. The accident report says 21 year old Sac City resident Courtney Graffunder died after she ran into the trailer of a semi-truck on Highway 71 north of Early.
