Two Staff Members Dead After Assault At Anamosa State Prison

Two people are dead after a fatal assault a state prison. The Iowa Dept. Of Corrections says, an inmate at Anamosa State Penitentiary  killed an officer and a nurse Tuesday morning. The Iowa DOC says the attack happened in the infirmary at the facility. Staff members were able to subdue the inmate after the attack.

The identity of the  inmate who committed the assault has not released, nor has the identities of those that were killed. The Dept. Of Corrections says that the incident is still being investigated and the Iowa DCI is assisting in the investigation.
