Unity Point Health Making Major Investment In Trinity Cancer Center

Unity Point Health Trinity Cancer Center has now been caring for cancer patients for nearly a decade. Unity Point Health Fort Dodge CEO & President Leah Glasgo says in that time, they’ve become the premiere provider in this part of the state.

Dr. Shane Hopkins from Trinity Cancer Center says providing comprehensive care is a true team effort.

Unity Point Health Fort Dodge constructed a new radiation vault in 2020. They also recently purchased a new piece of equipment called a linear accelerator. The new machine is set to replace the older one they are currently using. Here’s Dr. Hopkins on what that machine does.

A project of this nature is a major financial investment. Leah Glasgo says it wouldn’t be possible without donations from the Trinity Foundation.

The Trinity Cancer Center expects to start treating patients with the new machine beginning in April.
