In the northwest corner of Kennedy Lake in Webster County is a breathtaking memorial known as Veteran Memorial Park.

It stands as a peaceful place for reflection of those who have served and those who continue to serve our country.

On Monday, the community is invited to attend a program that will begin with a performance by the Karl King Band at 10am and will conclude with an honor guard rifle salute and a chilling rendition of Taps.

Patrick Hickey of the Marine Corp League says the park serves as a year round reminder of a communities gratitude to those who have been in uniform.

The event, held at the Terry Moehnke Veterans Memorial Park is organized by the Fort Dodge Veterans Council.
