Wall To Wall Basketball Friday Night
It will be wall to wall basketball Friday night on the Alpha Media Fort Dodge stations. The Fort Dodge Dodgers have their home opener hosting Ankeny Centennial. Dodger girls opened Tuesday night with a road loss to ranked opponent Dowling Catholic 67-26. Dodgers were without the services of returning contributors Jalen Adams and Haley Wills due to quarantine. T.K. Doster was the lone Dodger in double figures Tuesday with 11. Wills and Adams are expected back in the line up Friday Night. Fort Dodge girls will look to avenge last year’s loss to the Lady Jags.
Dodger Boys will be making their season debut Friday. Fort Dodge is coming off a campaign that saw its struggles last season finishing at 3-20. However, they were playing much better at the end of the season after they up Sioux City West in the playoffs. They ended the season falling at eventual State Champs Ankeny in what was a single digit game until the final 6 minutes. Dodger Boys have several new faces from last season and Coach Tom Daniel says the early part of the season will be about figuring out their rotations.
Pregame coverage starts on 92.1 and here on our website at 6 PM Friday with tip off in the girls game at 6:15. Dodgers will play the second league of home to back games on Saturday. They host Ottumwa tip off for the girls is scheduled for 3:30 ,with the boys to follow those games will also air on 92.1 and here on the website.
On 105-9 “The Beach” South Central Calhoun is back in action hosting GTRA. The Titan girls are still undefeated and ranked in the top 5 in Class 2A. The Titan boys have won in a row after a loss Dec. 1st at South Hamilton. Titan boys have hit a combined 21 3’s in their last two games. Brian Peters will have the call of the action tonight starting at 6PM.
St. Edmond is on the road at Hampton-Dumont-Cal. Gaels girls still looking for their 1st win, they had their best performance of the year in a loss Tuesday at Southeast Valley. Gaels boys dropped the road tilt to undefeated Southeast Valley on Tuesday, they will look to bounce back Friday night. Join KN Meiners on the call starting at 6 PM.
In college basketball, it will be the hardwood edition of the Cy-Hawk game. Third ranked and undefeated Iowa hosts Iowa State. Hawkeyes are coming off a double digit win at home vs North Carolina. Iowa State looks to bounce back after a loss last week against South Dakota State. The game is an 8 Pm tip off and will be available on two of our stations.
