Wanted Des Moines Man Captured In Humboldt

A Des Moines man who was wanted by police was arrested in Humboldt Monday afternoon. 21 year old Paul Knapp was taken into custody after being located by law enforcement at an apartment on Wildcat Road. Knapp was wanted on a nationwide warrant for escape. He was taken to Humboldt County Jail awaiting transfer to the Iowa Dept. Of Corrections. Knapp was charged with 1st degree theft and 2nd degree arson prior to escape. Ankeny Police had informed the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Knapp’s possible location at the the Humboldt apartment. They also gave a description of a stolen vehicle Knapp was in. A Humboldt County deputy found the vehicle a 2016 GMC Denali at the apartment and deputies took Knapp into custody without incident.
