Webster County Public Health issued the following statement on Saturday-  Residents are reminded to not take and post a photo to social media of their COVID-19 vaccine card. The Better Business Bureau reported on Saturday that the personal information on these cards which have been posted to social media have been captured and found for sale on the dark web by scammers.
The BBB is recommending that if you’d like to share with others that you’ve received your vaccine, use a social media photo frame, like the one Webster County Health Department posted Friday evening, or post a photo of a sticker that says you’ve been vaccinated. Webster County Health Department will have stickers available next week for participants.
