Webster City Standoff On Monday Results In Fatal Shooting

A stand off in Webster City Monday resulted in a fatal shooting. The Webster City Police Dept. responded to a 911 call of a hostage situation. A man who has not yet been indentified had barricaded himself in a residence on Apple Avenue. The female who was being held inside reported the man fired shots at her in the residence. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Dept. and Iowa State Patrol assisted the Webster City PD. The Iowa State Patrol Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiators responded and negiotated with the man. The man threatened to shoot the female hostage, the tactical team then entered the residence and the man was fatally shot. The identity of the man has not yet been released neither has the names of the officers involved. The incident remains under investigation.
