Webster County Animal Control Helps the People and Animals Involved in a Hoarding Situation

Calls to Webster County Animal Control range from a dog on the loose to cats stuck in storm sewer drains. Most recently animal control has received several calls involving so-called hoarding situations involving animals.

According to Webster County Animal Protection Officer Kaila Benson, on Friday, several cats and kittens were surrendered by their owner in an effort to save their lives.

Benson said when it comes to these situations judgment and fines are the last thing a person needs.

She says the approach of kindness and compassion can go a lot further.

In all, Benson says seven cats are now receiving vet care. A fundraiser is posted for people to donate to the Humboldt county animal shelter for people who want to help.
