Webster County Board of Health Names New Executive Director

The Webster County Department of Public Health has a new director.

Jennifer Sumpter was chosen for the post during the Webster County Board of Health meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

Following the news, Sumpter spoke to Alpha media News about her new role within the department.

“I just felt a need to transition into more of a director type of a role,” Sumpter said. ”I knew that was something that was needed at the health department. Doctor Kelli Wallace has been our interim director in the meantime and has done a wonderful job. I believe in what we do at the health department and I just want to lead everybody into hopefully a successful future.”

Sumpter has been with the health department since 2007 and has been in the role of chief nurse officer there since 2016.
