42-Year Old Man Being Held In Webster County Jail For Alleged Multiple Felony Sex Offenses

Press Release from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office:

On Monday, September 27, 2021, the Webster County Communications Center received information at approximately 12:30 p.m. regarding an alleged sex abuse perpetrated by Matthew J. Davis (DOB 12/08/1979) in rural Webster County.  During the investigation of the alleged offenses, Webster County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted multiple witness interviews and executed search warrants in order to learn additional information regarding the offenses alleged.  Though the investigation continues, by the end of the day Monday, detectives with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division filed six criminal complaints against the Defendant.  These complaints allege that the Defendant committed three counts of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, each class “C” felonies and three counts of Incest, each class “D” felonies.    

 

Davis is currently held in the custody of the Webster County Jail.  His initial appearance occurred today at 9:00 a.m. in Webster County Magistrate Court and he was ordered held on $165,000 thousand cash only bond.  As in all cases, the Defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

 

The Webster County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by detectives with the Fort Dodge Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
