The Webster County Sheriff’s Office is participating in the national “Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over” campaign. The campaign will run from now through New Year’s Day and will call for an increased law enforcement presence on the roads. Stats from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau say that 27% of all the traffic fatalities in Iowa for 2018, involved alcohol impaired driving. 85 people died in 2018 in Iowa traffic accidents. During the Christmas and New Year’s Day holiday period in 2018, there were more drunk driving fatalities than any other holiday period that year. The Webster County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to drive sober or get pulled over this holiday.
