Week 5 Preview: SC Calhoun Meets Southeast Valley, Dodgers With Tall Order, Gaels Look To Respond
This season is progressing rapidly for area high school football teams, as week 5 action comes your way. Week 5 features three games on the Alpha Media Fort Dodge family of stations. On 105-9 “The Beach” join Mark Williamson and Brian Peters on the call as South Central Calhoun hosts Southeast Valley. This is one of the biggest games in the area and possibly in the state in Class 1A. Both teams are undefeated and this game has district title implications. South Central Calhoun comes in ranked #2 and Southeast Valley was just outside the top 10 this week. Titans Head Coach Brian Case has attributed much of their hot start to their ability to create and cash in on turnovers.
( All games start with the pregame show at 6:45, kickoff set for 7 PM. All games also available here on our website)
On “92 Rock” Fort Dodge travels to take on #2 Urbandale. The J-Hawks are one of only four remaining unbeaten teams in Iowa’s Class 4A. They are led by two University Of Iowa commits on their defense and they also have a running back with mid-major D1 offers. Dodgers have some momentum after a comeback win at Marshalltown 35-28 last week. Fort Dodge Coach Nik Moser says that while Urbandale is a tremendous challenge he feels his team is up for it.
The St. Edmond Gaels are in action hosting Manson NW Webster at Dodger Stadium. Join Casey Meiners as he brings you all the action of this local football rivalry. St. Edmond is coming off their 1st loss of the year last week at defending state champs West Hancock. Gaels Coach Matt Dillon says his team has put that loss behind them to focus on this rivalry game.
