FOLKS PLANNING TO GET AN EARLY START ON CHRISTMAS TRAVEL ARE ADVISED TO WATCH THE WEATHER.  A STRENGTHENING WINTER STORM  IS FORECAST TO BRING STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WITH

LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWFALL TO THE AREA TODAY.  THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WARNING FOR SOME COUNTIES, INCLUDING CALHOUN, POCAHONTAS, HUMBOLDT, AND SAC AND A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR COUNTIES INCLUDING WEBSTER AND HAMILTON STARTING AT NOON TODAY.  CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO DETERIORATE AS THE MORNING GOES ON, WITH WINDS GUSTING OVER FIFTY MILES PER HOUR.  VISIBILITIES ARE EXPECTED TO BE NEAR ZERO THIS AFTERNOON AND TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO DROP THROUGH THE DAY.  TRAVELERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE PREPARED TO CHANGE TRAVEL PLANS IF TRAVELING TO PARTS OF IOWA AND MINNESOTA TODAY.
