Wright County Offering Covid-19 Antibody Testing To All Prestage Employees

After the news broke last week of 25 positive covid-19 cases at the Prestage Foods plant near Eagle Grove. Wright County Officials released a statement Tuesday regarding Antibody testing that begin this week. After the 25 cases were confirmed Wright County’s Board Of Health and Supervisory Board requested additional testing for antibodies to assist in the evaluation and the state of Iowa granted that request. Starting this week the Wright County Board Of Health in cooperation with Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics will begin offering covid-19 antibody testing to all Prestage Employees along with several Medical and First Responders in Wright County. The goals of the testing are to reveal those that may have had the virus and recovered, reveal those who haven’t had it, recognize ongoing vulnerability, and provide Public Health officials a better idea of community spread. The 25 counties from last week represented people who reside in 5 various counties, 18 of those were from Black Hawk County. None of the 25 who tested postie were showing any symptoms of the virus at the time of testing.
