#1 Dodger Softball Cruises In Season Opener

The top ranked Dodger Softball team cruised in their season opener Tuesday night 13-1 in 3 innings over Sioux City-Heelan in game heard on “Sunny” 99.7 and here on our website. The Dodgers batted around in the 2nd scoring 7 and sending 11 hitters to the plate. Jalen Adams the win in the circle going 2 shutout innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 5, She also was 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI’s. Dodgers had a commanding 9-1 lead when Senior Loghen Schnetzer came up with the bases loaded in the 3rd.

The Schnetzer grand slam capped off a dominant performance for the Dodgers over a ranked opponent. 2B Martyne Lowery went for 2 for 2 while driving in 2 and CF Sophia Klinger was for 2 for 2. The Dodgers take on Johnston on the road Wednesday night. The Johnston match up should serve as a measuring stick game for the Dodgers. While Fort Dodge is number one they have a chance to put the rest of Iowa Class 5A on notice with a road win over #3 Johnston. The Dodgers return to Harlan Rogers Thursday Night to host Estherville-Lincoln Central. They have Urbandale on the road Friday and a home invitational Saturday.
