Calhoun County Attorney Files To Remove Sheriff

The Calhoun County Attorney’s Office has filed to remove Sheriff Scott Anderson from office. The County Attorney’s office released a statement “that this action is not taken lightly or with malice. Sheriff Anderson, through his recent actions, has lost the trust and respect of fellow law enforcement and
the community at large and cannot not effectively carry out his duties as Sheriff of
Calhoun County”. Anderson was arrested over the weekend on charges of assault on persons of a certain occupation and domestic abuse assault. He made his initial appearance on those charges Monday. Anderson pleaded not guilty to assault on persons of a certain occupation, a continuation was put on the domestic abuse assault charge.
