Coach Brian Wilken Talks Newell-Fonda Season & Playoff Run

Coach Brian Wilken from Newell-Fonda Football has the philosophy that the keys to winning at the 8 player level are the same as the 11 player game. He believes in teaching solid blocking and tackling techniques and ball security. That formula has been the recipe behind his program’s success this season. Newell-Fonda has been ranked in the top 10 all season and their lone loss came by 2 points to a top 3 ranked Remsen St. Mary’s squad. The Mustangs shutout Kingsley- Pierson 20-0 Friday to advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. Coach Wilken joined Rob Jones on “The Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Coaches Corner” on 99.7 Saturday Morning to talk about their playoff win and the tremendous season his team is having.
