Fort Dodge And Mason City Renew Oldest HS Wrestling Rivalry In Iowa Thursday Night
Fourth ranked Fort Dodge Wrestling is back in action on Thursday night, they’ll be on the road taking on Mason City. The rivalry between the two wrestling programs dates back 100 years making it Iowa’s longest running series. The two teams first met in Iowa’s 1st interscholastic wrestling event in 1921.
It’ll be the 1st time in action for the Dodgers since Christmas break. They look to capitalize on the momentum they carried into the holidays, after winning their sixth consecutive team title in the Don Miller Invitational. The Dodgers are expected to send 6 wrestlers to the mat that are ranked in the top 5 in their respective weight classes.
