The Alpha Media Fort Dodge stations had a full plate of hoops on Friday Dec. 20th. Fort Dodge and South Central Calhoun split the girls and boys games with their respective opponents Friday, while St. Edmond was swept in both games. In games heard on 92 Rock, The Fort Dodge girls won their 2nd straight game downing Marshalltown 56-37. It was a total team effort by the Dodgers as they had 3 players in double figures. Two of the top 3 scorers on the season though for the Dodgers were well below their scoring average. Guard Tory Bennett was fighting foul trouble and illness and finished with 7 points which was well below her average. Aleaha Pommer who came into Friday’s game having scored in double digits twice in a row was plagued by foul trouble and couldn’t get in an offensive flow scoring just 2 in the game. However, the Dodgers got 12 from their 2nd leading scorer on the season Cheyenne Miller-Hameed which was well above her average, TK Doster had a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards, with 8 of her 10 points coming in the 2nd half. It was the Dodger bench that was the difference outscoring Marshalltown’s reserves 25-0 in the game, led by a season high 11 for Ellie White. White had this 3 in the 2nd half to help the Dodgers put the game away.

Fort Dodge got 9 from Jalen Adams off the bench as well. The Dodger girls are 3-5 on the year, which they have already topped their win total from last year going into the Chrsitmas break. The Dodger boys fell for the 7th consecutive time 54-34. The offensive struggles continue for Fort Dodge as they managed just 8 points in the 1st half and trailed 25-8 at the break. Marshalltown had 3 players in double figures led by Soph. guard and college prospect Armoni Thomas with 18. Fort Dodge was led by Soph. Monterius Abrams-Altman with 8 and Avery Martin with 7.

The South Central Calhoun Titans girls lost for the 2nd straight time falling to Emmetsburg 67-37. The game was tied at the half but Emmetsburg would explode in the 2nd half and outscore SCC 50-20 to run away with the win. Riley Batta led SCC with 13. In the boys game SCC downed Emmetsburg 65-46. The Titans would come out strong and build a 36-22 halftime lead. The Titans with 3 players in double figures Landon Schliesman led the way with 15, Josh Dietrich with 11 and Cole COrey added 10. Ben Dunlop led the way for Emmetsburg with 22.

St. Edmond was swept by 3A opponent Clear Lake as the Gaels girls fell 77-18. Clear Lake scored 31 in the 2nd quarter to pull away. Darby Dodd led Clear Lake with 14. Cambrie Mcbride led the Gaels with 9. The St. Edmond girls go into the Christmas break still looking for their 1st win of the season. The St. Edmond boys fell 62-32. Clear Lake’s Carson Toebe was the story scoring a game high 24, 17 of those coming in the 2nd half.
