Iowa Central Basketball earned a road sweep at Ellsworth on Wednesday. The Triton women had no trouble as they cruised to a 76-51 win. A late 3rd quarter run by Iowa Central would break the game open. Tritons had 3 players in double figures led by Isabell West who had a game high 23. Nevaeh Galloway had 11 and Jordan Engbrecht added 10.
In the Men’s game, Iowa Central would get a win in a high drama affair 81-79. It was a game of runs with each team going on scoring spurts throughout the night. The game was tied at 76 after a late Ellsworth run. Tritons would get 5 points and a big stop in the final minute to win it. Guard Jaxon Smith was clutch again, knocking down a 3 late that prove to be the game winner. However, Ellsworth had a chance after the Smith 3. They would miss a 3 pt attempt in the closing seconds, Javonte Keck would get the board preserving the win for Iowa Central. The Triton Men are now 3-0 and ranked in the top 15 in the NJCAA.
