Iowa State Has Parted Ways With Steve Prohm

Iowa State has parted ways with Men’s Basketball Coach Steve Prohm. The school made the announcement Monday and AD Jamie Pollard met with Prohm to deliver the news. Prohm had been in the position for 6 seasons. He had success early on in Ames, but many feel that success came on the backs of players brought in by former Coach Fred Hoiberg.

He had success early on in Ames, but many feel that success came on the backs of players brought in by former Coach Fred Hoiberg. Prohm had three losing seasons in his last four. This last season was the worst of those, as Iowa State went 2-22 going winless in conference play for the first time since 1937.

Prohm still has years left on his contract and reportedly his buyout is 5 million dollars.
