Lewil Gets Plea Deal After Fatal Shooting In September

Court records state that a plea agreement has been reached in the case of 18 year old, Denharrio  Lewil of Fort Dodge. Lewil was originally charged with 1st degree murder and attempted murder, after a shooting in September. That shooting left 18 year old J’lynn Beason dead. The plea agreement reached means Lewil has entered guilty please to voluntary manslaughter, carrying weapons and reckless use of a firearm. In the September shooting, Lewil opened fire on South 14th St, Lewil had issues with Beason’s brother and intended to shoot him, according to court documents. An attorney for originally had filed paperwork stating Lewil would use a self defense claim in court. That will not be an option going forward after the plea deal, Lewil is now awaiting sentencing.
