Pocahontas County Economic Development Commission (PCEDC) has announced
that they have awarded Aspen Leaf Café & Coffee House with a grant to open their doors in
Pocahontas and TMC Tack & Supplies of rural Havelock with a grant to launch a mobile unit.
PCEDC launched the Jump-Start Accelerator Grant Program with $10,000 seed money this summer to
assist new businesses in gaining capital to open their doors and thrive within Pocahontas County. The
Iowa Economic Development Authority additionally awarded PCEDC with $20,000 to get this program
moving forward. PCEDC will provide support as needed through their network of partners, including the opportunity to participate in business training through Iowa Central Community College and the Small Business Development Center . “The Jump-Start Accelerator Grant supports PCEDC’s mission to increase economic opportunity through business formation, and job creation for the citizens of
Pocahontas County,” says Emily Williams, Workforce Marketing Coordinator.
