Seasons On The Line In Week 2 Of The Playoffs Under The Lights
Week 2 of the playoffs for area teams mean the season is on the line, it’s a situation where it’s the next 4 quarters that matter not the previous 8 weeks. Playoff action comes your way under the bright lights Friday Night. On 105.9 “The Beach” South Central Calhoun hosts Dike-New Hartford. The Titans cruised last week 46-7 in their playoff opener against Sioux Central. Titans QB Cole Corey is completing 63% f his passes this year and accounted for 3 TD’s last week, his teammates Blake Mcalister and Brennan Holder each had a TD run and TD catch last week. SCC has used the tried and true formula of run game and defense to amass a 6-1 record this season and win thier playoff opener for the 4th straight year. Dike-New Hartford comes in having won their last 5 in a row including a rout of Jesup last week 41-6. The Titans defense is allowing just 10 PPG this season. They’ll be tested tonight against Dike-New Hartford RB Drew Larson who has over 1,200 rushing yards and 15 TDs on the season. The Fort Dodge Dodgers start their playoff journey at Waterloo West tonight. Dodgers coming off a bye week and will get some players back from injury tonight including RB Dayson Clayton and DT Reco Jolly. Waterloo West is led by their passing game on offense, QB Carter Schulte has thrown for over 1,500 yards and they feature 3 receivers who average over 15 yards per catch. The Dodger DB’s though have been solid all year long and Coach Nik Moser thinks his secondary is up to the challenge tonight.

South Hamilton is unbeaten and won their District Title, they had a bye last week they host South Hardin.
Coon Rapids-Bayard is having a tremendous year at 7-0 they host 5-2 Harris- Lake Park in the 8 player class tonight.
Carroll-Kuemper pulled a road upset last week knocking off Pocahontas Area. They are on the road tonight looking for some more “playoff magic” as they take on 1 loss Emmetsburg.
