Shag the Drag Santa Style Tonight in Fort Dodge!

Tonight, people will be shagging the drag in downtown Fort Dodge, Santa style! 

Event organizer Linette Nelson said she started the event last year as a way for Santa to spread Christmas cheer at a distance during the pandemic.  

Nelson said in addition to the visit from Santa, there will a be a lot of stuff going on to get you in the Christmas spirit, including folks from Lighthouse Ministries and Iowa Central singing Christmas carols, the Elkhorn Early Bird 4-H Troop and Shiny Top Brewing handing out cookies and hot cocoa, and a food drive at Personal Expressions Art and Hair Studio, featuring appearances from even more favorite holiday characters!

Last year, Nelson says Santa was very welcoming to people wanting to take a picture – or with  the people who want to keep their distance they can drive on by and wave. 

This year’s Shag the Drag Santa Style will begin at 6:30 pm tonight and remember to bring your  food donations down to Amanda Peart at 1214 Central Ave.
