South Central Calhoun Hoops Back In Action

The South Central Calhoun Titans girls and boys basketball return to hardwood action tonight after the holiday hiatus. SCC hosts MVAOCOU you can hear both of those games on 105.9 “The Beach” Monday and here on our website. Monday’s games for a 5:45 PM scheduled start for the girls pregame show with the boys to follow. Brian Peters will be on the call of both games. The Titan girls come in 7-2 on the season, they started 7-0 but lost the last two straight before the holiday break. MVAOCOU’s girls come in 2-5 and lost their last 3 straight before Christmas. SCC has 3 girls who score 10 points per game or more. Senior Emma Mckinney leads them in scoring at 12 PPG. Freshmen Riley Batta is having a tremendous year 11 PPG, and leads the team in rebouning, assists and steals and Junior Brielle Korleski is averaging 10 points per. Ashlyn Blake leads MVAOCOU with 10.4 points per.

The Titan boys are 5-3 and looking to continue the momentum they carried into the holidays after beating Emmetsburg 65-46 on Dec. 20th. MVAOCOU comes in 2-4 they broke a 4 game losing skid  by beating Woodbury Central 63-43 on December 17th in their last game. SCC has 6 players averaging 9 or more points per. Senior Zane Neubaum has played in just 3 games but is averaging 19 per game in those 3. Junior Cole Corey is averaging 11.4 PPG and classmate Brennan Holder is scoring 11.3 per and leading team in rebounding at nearly 7 per. Senior Landon Schliesman is averaging 9 PPG and leads the team in both assists and steals. MVAOCOU has 3 players averging 9 or more points per. Sr. Dylan Blake leads them at 11, Junior Chase Pester averages 9 PPG and a team high 7 RPG.
