Area Baseball/Softball Report: Gael Baseball Edged By Pocahontas Area & Area Scores

St. Edmond Baseball and Pocahontas Area went toe to toe on Tuesday. The two had two work around uncooperative weather as the game had delays and eventually was called in the 6th. Ultimately, Pocahontas Area edged St. Edmond 3-2.

Braden Grebner got the in for Pocahontas Area on the hill. Tyler Mcdowell had another solid start for St. Edmond. Mcdowell went 5 innings, scattered 7 hits and gave up 3 runs, he pitched well enough to win but got the tough luck loss. The Gaels had a chance to score to tie the game in the 5th,  but the runner was thrown out at the plate. Emmanuel Perry with two hits for St. Edmond and Trey Oehlertz had two hits for Pocahontas Area. Gaels are back at it, hosting Clarion on Wednesday.

Algona Baseball fell to Storm Lake4-3 on Tuesday. Storm Lake scored once in the 2nd and twice in the 3rd, to take a 3-0 lead. Algona answered with two in the 4th and one in the 5th to tie it. Storm Lake got what would be the game winning run in the 6th. Algona managed just 4 hits in the game, one of those was a solo homer by Cameron Rindone.
