Area Sports Report: Dodger Softball Gets Tough Road Win And Humboldt Softball Coach Gets Milestone Win

Fort Dodge Softball got a tough road win Thursday Night downing 4th ranked ADM 5-3. Dodgers got 3 in the 1st and scored one in the 3rd and 4th to take a 5-0 lead. ADM rallied scoring 3 in the 4th to cut the lead but the Dodgers held them off to get the win. Jalen Adams the winning pitcher for Fort Dodge that’s her 16th win of the season. Adams went the distance scattering 4 hits and allowed 3 runs while striking out 12. Dodger Catcher TK Doster had a double in the game, Dodgers have won 10 in a row they host Ballard Saturday Night at Rogers Park for a 7:30 1st pitch.

Humboldt Softball downed Ames 7-0 Thursday Night. It marked the 600th career win for Humboldt Coach Doug Van Pelt. Algona Baseball fell to traditional power house Newman Catholic 11-5. Newman scored 5 in the 1st two innings but Algona would battle back to cut into the lead. Newman led 7-5 after the 6th but would score 4 unaswered in the 7th to pull away. Algona with 13 runners left on base on the night. Tyler Manske 3 RBI’s for the Bulldogs. Newman Catholic pounded out 13 hits in the game.
