Arrest Made In Fort Dodge Shooting Incident Tuesday Night

An arrest has been made stemming from the shooting incident here in Fort Dodge on Tuesday Night. The Fort Dodge Police Dept. issued a statement Wednesday that said 31 year old Fort Dodge resident William C. Goddard Jr. was arrested Wednesday. He is charged with attempted murder and going armed with intent. Police say that during the investigation Wednesday they obtained information that identified Goddard Jr. as a potential suspect/ Just before 9 PM Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 500 Block of South 15th St for a reported assault. A 52 year old man was found on the scene injured after Police say Goddard shot the man with a flare gun and then allegedly beat him with an unknown instrument before fleeing the scene.
