Basketball Season Tips Off With Two Games On Your Radio Tuesday
The High School Basketball season tips off for both St. Edmond and South Central Calhoun Tuesday. It will be “Ladies Night” on your radio dial as both are girls only games. On 105-9 “The Beach” join Brian Peters as he brings you the call of South Central Calhoun’s season opener vs Storm Lake. The Titans Girls team returns quite a few major contributors from last year’s 15-7 squad. Titans return guard Riley Batta who led the team in scoring last year at 12.8 RPG and pulled down 5.4 rebounds per. Along with her, Brielle Korleski returns after averaging near double digits as a scorer and is the team’s best returning free throw shooter after making 70% last year ( minimum attempts of 10). Guard Kylie Schliesman is also back after leading the team in assists last season at 2.7 per game. Tuesday will mark the debut for Brady Dicks in the role as Head Coach for South Central Calhoun. The game is scheduled for 6 PM but may be delayed in starting as their is a JV game in front of it, Brian Peters will have the call of all the action.
The other Tuesday Night opener, features the St. Edmond Girls team. The Gaels will open their season with a daunting task taking on preseason #2 and last year’s 1A State Runner Ups Bishop Garrigan. St. Edmond returns post player Leah Neverman who led them in scoring in rebounding last year averaging 9 and 9. She will match up with Bishop Garrigan’s returning All State selection and D-I prospect Audi Crooks who averaged 23 and 12 as a Freshman last season. The opener marks the debut at the helm for new St. Edmond Head Coach C.J. Tracy as well. The pregame show is set to begin around 6:45 PM , but could be delayed as a JV game will be in front of it. KC Meiners will have the call of the game on “Sunny” 99.7. Both games will also air here on our website.
