Iowa Dept. Of Education Director Dr. Ann Lebo announced that baseball and softball players from school such as Eagle Grove and Belmond-Klemme can play at any school in the state. Student athletes from those schools who are not fielding teams can play as long as the program they choose accepts them. No program in Iowa is required to take those student athletes. The cost of transportation from the players home to their new team will be fully on the player and their family. The student athletes who play at another program will be required to return to their original school after the summer. Belmond- Klemme and Eagle Grove school districts both voted not to play this summer. Eagle Grove’s board voted 3-2 not to play earlier this week, Belmond-Klemme voted a few weeks ago.
