Carroll County Club Incident Results In Probation For Fort Dodge Man

A Fort Dodge man originally charged with felony robbery and theft has been sentenced to probation after  an incident in Carroll County in 2019. According to court records, 19-year-old Tyraius Percel McElroy pleaded guilty to only first-degree theft, a class C felony, after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors. McElroy was sentenced to three years of probation. McElroy received a deferred judgment meaning court records regarding the case will be expunged once he successfully completes probation  The charges stem from an incident outside Ossy’s Show Club in Carroll on Sept. 19th. Authorities say McElroy assaulted a man and stole his wallet. The victim  attempted to stop McElroy  from leaving the scene by reaching through the window of a vehicle as he was driving off, the victim was dragged from the vehicle before letting go.
