THE FORT DODGE CITY COUNCIL MET LAST NIGHT. DURING THE MEETING, THE COUNCIL APPROVED THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTIES ON 3RD AVE NW, AS PART OF AN EVENTUAL REALIGNMENT OF THE ROAD AND RECONSTRUCTING THE AREA. ACCORDING TO THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING, THE COUNCIL PURCHASED PROPERTIES FROM LYNNETTE PETERSON, INCLUDING COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, FOR $400,000. THEY ALSO PURCHASED PROPERTY FROM DONALD PETERSON, INCLUDING A COMMERCIAL BUILDING, FOR $105,000. THE PURCHASES WILL ALLOW THE CITY TO DEVELOP THE AREA AND REALIGN THE ROAD. THE COUNCIL ALSO APPROVED THE FINAL RULES FOR PARKING IN DOWNTOWN FORT DODGE. THE PARKING METERS HAVE BEEN REMOVED AND THOSE SPACES ARE AVAILABLE FOR TWO HOUR PARKING, WITH A PARKING PROHIBITION IN PLACE FROM 2-5AM DAILY. THE COUNCIL NEXT MEETS ON SEPTEMBER 27TH IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS AT CITY HALL.
