The City Of Fort Dodge released a statement regarding flushing of water mains  starting Monday June 22nd. The statement is below.

Weather permitting; beginning on Monday, June 22 until work is completed – the Warehouse
Division will be flushing water mains throughout the city. City-wide flushing is estimated to
take between 4 and 6 weeks to complete.
Flushing will begin in the northwest part of town and move south, along the west bank of the
Des Moines River. When flushing is complete on the west side of town, crews will begin
flushing on the east side of town, starting in the downtown area and radiating outward to the
north, east, and south.
Flushing will be monitored so as not to take place on the same days as refuse collection.
Fire hydrant diffusers, firehoses, and rubber mats will be used to divert water away from homes
and businesses, and signage will be placed in areas where flushing is taking place.
During this operation, there may be some discoloration and/or air bubbles, however this
discoloration should dissipate quickly by running the faucets and other fixtures for a few
minutes if needed. If you experience any issues, please call the Water Department at 515-573-
7156 to report it.
