After announcing his retirement on Wednesday as the Head Football Coach at Fort Dodge, Matt Miller spoke to our own Rob Jones. Miller made it clear that he loves the community of Fort Dodge and felt his program had great support from the school’s administration and community. He just felt like after 33 years in coaching, and 16 as head man it was time for him to retire. He has not decided for sure whether he will retire from teaching at the end of the year, but will make that decision at a later date. Miller stated that while he became the all time wins leader in program history this year that didn’t play a part in the decision. He also made it clear he values the relationships he has been able to build with his players both current and former and his coaching staff more than he values the wins and losses.
