“Coaches Corner” Show Returns Saturday Aug. 21st On “Sunny” 99.7

The Hy-Vee Fort Dodge “Coaches Corner” returns to “Sunny” 99.7  Saturday August 21st at 9AM. This Saturday’s episode will serve as the season preview edition for football and other fall sports. Coaches Corner is now in its 3rd year, as it debuted in fall of 2019. Rob Jones will once serve as host of the program as he has since the inception of “Coaches Corner”.

Rob said ” I am beyond excited to relaunch the show. We have been on a short hiatus since we finished the summer baseball and softball season in late July. In fall of 2019 when we launched the show here I was new to the area and didn’t know exactly what to expect. I had done similar type shows other places but you never know how a new audience and new area is going to take to you and your programming. The audience for the show has been one that has been into what we do on the program since day one, they are loyal and that number has grown. The coaches in the various sports and seasons have been incredibly receptive and they have been extremely willing to participate. Being a former coach, I understand the grind of the season and how time consuming it is, so I can’t thank the coaches of the area enough for their time. It’s the coaches that are the motor behind the show and I just serve as the steering wheel”.

Since its inception in 2019 “Coaches Corner” has been the source to hear local coaches from various sports during all the fall, winter and summer seasons. The show has featured every area coach that has won a State Title in the seasons it covers. Rob said ” I always have an eye on the local sports landscapes and while we try our best to feature all local coaches, obviously we want to cover the major local stories. There isn’t a bigger local story in high school sports than winning State.”

The fall lineup for the show will feature football, cross country and other sports. The show relaunches this Saturday and the plan is to have brand new episodes each Saturday morning through the fall season. Rob said ” I am looking forward to the journey throughout the fall we will start coming up in August and I plan to carry through to sometime in November.”

Hy-Vee of Fort Dodge will serve as the title sponsor and host venue as they have since day one. Rob said ” I can’t thank Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Store Director Tim Flaherty enough. He believed in this vision from the moment that I first met him and pitched him the idea. Hy-Vee is first class all the way, Tim, Mike and that whole crew are top flight. Their Market Grille area provides a great venue to hold the show, it blew me away the first time I went there. Their food program is amazing obviously with the show being Saturday mornings, the coaches and I normally partake in breakfast. I have had everything on the breakfast menu and it is all awesome. I also have had lunch and dinner at Hy-Vee aand it is always on point as well. I appreciate Hy-Vee’s partnership and commitment to me and this show more than I can express.”

“Coaches Corner” is back this Saturday at 9AM on “Sunny” 99.7 and is a live interactive experience. Rob invites the public to come and join in the fun. Rob said ” It’s a great atmosphere there at Hy-Vee every Saturday morning that I am there, no matter how late I got in from calling a game the night before I always am energized when I walk in and see so many familiar faces. The show has not only a great listening audience but it’s awesome to see every body who comes to Hy-Vee regularly on Saturdays as well”.
